Terms of Use

Plain-language terms for the Blurrrer web app and browser extension. This page is maintained by the Blurrrer project.

1. What Blurrrer is

Blurrrer is a free tool that helps you redact sensitive content from screenshots and text before you share them with an AI assistant. Detection and redaction happen entirely inside your browser. There are no accounts and no server-side storage of your content. See the Privacy page for details.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Blurrrer to redact content you do not have the right to process.
  • Reverse-engineer the extension to intercept other users' data on a shared machine.
  • Rebrand, resell, or redistribute Blurrrer as your own product without attribution.
  • Use Blurrrer to violate any applicable law.

3. "As-is", no warranty

Blurrrer is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Detectors are pattern-based and imperfect: they will miss some sensitive items and they will occasionally flag false positives. You are responsible for reviewing the output before you share it. Do not treat Blurrrer as a compliance control on its own.

4. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Blurrrer project and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the tool — including any leak of sensitive information that Blurrrer failed to catch.

5. Third-party services

The browser extension operates on pages hosted by ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity and Grok. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. Blurrrer is not affiliated with any of them.

6. Intellectual property

The Blurrrer source code is released under an open-source license (see the project repository). Trademarks and logos of third-party AI providers belong to their respective owners.

7. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the product evolves. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.

8. Contact
